Blog: Spotlight on our Cyber Security practice

05/02/16
Early January, Capita IT professional services has announced a change to the name of its Information Security practice. It is now called Cyber Security to mirror the new IT security challenges businesses face today.

At the end of 2015, a record number of cyber-attacks affected large organisations in the UK and abroad. Examples include: TalkTalk, Morrisons, the BBC, British Airways, JD Wetherspoon, to name but a few. Unfortunately, it is apparent that these organisations did not have the right defences in place to counter these cyber-attacks.

For that reason, it is crucial that organisations establish a robust and effective information security strategy to protect their business against cyber threats; to maintain their competitive advantage in the market place and to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, legislation and strict industry regulations.

How can the Cyber Security team support your businesses?

With one of the largest team of experienced and suitably certified cyber security consultants in the UK, we have experience to ensure that each project is individually assessed, each solution match your specific needs and remains consistent with industry best practice.

Our expertise covers:
  • helping design, develop and build a functional Information Security Management System, or reviewing a business’s existing plans to ensure their IT security is fit for purpose
  • testing the state of the internal security
  • providing risk assessments based upon the international ISO 27005 standards
  • working with partners, to provide consultancy and software around privileged access. The services team design the infrastructure, implement the technology, on-board the privileged accounts and deliver continued support for the life of the programme.
