Data Pre-sales

Job role
Customer Engagement: Engage with customers to understand their needs and convey benefits of data in its various forms

Sales Support: Work closely with sales leads to deliver compelling proposals and presentations

Delivery Link: Aligned with Data & Insights Practice to ensure deliverability of proposed services and solutions

Personal Profile
• Passionate about data as a subject
• Strong bias towards ‘Insights’ (Predictive & Prescriptive rather than Descriptive Analytics)
• Highly motivated and committed to winning new business
• Personal integrity that builds trust and confidence in customers and colleagues
• Confident and personable with strong inter-personal skills
• At least 5 years Pre-sales experience
• Ability to communicate with business (primary) and more technical audiences (secondary)
• Listen, engage and discuss appropriately (consultative, not afraid to challenge, does not preach)
• Excellent listening and communication skills (verbal, written & presentational)
• Proactive and collaborative approach to working with clients, colleagues, partners & vendors
• Travel within the UK is required

Key Responsibilities
• Elicit understanding of customer requirements/needs/drivers/challenges
• Generation and presentation of proposals with sales lead
• Collaborative working with Marketing on proposals, collateral, campaigns, etc.
• Collaborative working with Data & Insights Practice on generation of Statements of Work (SoW)
• Work on Proof of Concepts if required, e.g. requirements and possibly build
• Maintain awareness of developments in the data space to ensure remain relevant/current

Skill Profile
• ‘Subject Matter Expert’ for Data
• Bachelor's degree in a technical area or equivalent practical experience
• Broad knowledge of technologies and methods in data space
• Deeper knowledge of one or more toolsets/technologies, e.g. Microsoft, Informatica, IBM
• Self-motivating and self-managing
• Strong task orientation (“gets things done”) with proactive approach to managing actions/owners
• Able to negotiate/manage own work priorities and deadlines, escalating if required
• Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic environment

• Able to travel on/across UK mainland 
- Possibility of Ireland/Norther Ireland
- Europe is an aspiration and would be discussed at a future/appropriate date
• Able to stay away from home when required
