OAT Test Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Test Managers, to be part of a FTSE 100 organisation. This role requires working on a permanent basis across the UK. We are looking for a strong Operational Acceptance Testing Manager, who has history of creating and delivering OAT Strategy’s.  Building influential relationships with all stakeholders including the steering group, business managers, IT, suppliers, the project teams and Capita Senior Management.

Main responsibilities

Managing the account wide OAT – including reviewing and advising on the
NFR’s, Pen test teams, Performance teams and other suppliers.
Lead a mixed project team of Test Analysts and Test Leads to define, plan,
script and undertake testing on projects in order to deliver quality software
in a timely and cost effective manner.
Line management and development of junior members within the team,
motivating colleagues and supporting where appropriately
Work closely with members of the team to ensure all activities remain
aligned and that divisional strategies are supported through the centralised
testing team
Understands key business and project goals and plans appropriately to
meet given goal
Produce key test management artefacts to agreed standards
Ensures testing is executing and managed in line with agreed plans and
processes
Can champion quality processes across the project ensuring all project
members understand the value of testing
Comprehensive understanding of the SDLC and methodologies such as the
"V Model", Waterfall and Agile
Proactively manages risks to ensure issues do not develop
Identifies and develops opportunities for organic growth of testing
opportunities

Essential skills

5-10 years testing experience, with at least 3 years in a OAT Manager role.
Experience of writing and designing OAT Strategy
Experience of planning and managing test phases
Experience across all phases of the software testing life cycle
Experience of leading large teams.
Able to define and implement and champion effective defect management
using appropriate tools.
Demonstrable knowledge of multiple software life cycle methodologies
Excellent stakeholder management skills up to Programme Level
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills

Desirable skills

Knowledge and practical experience in selecting and applying appropriate
v-model and/or Agile life cycle Testing methods to differing technical
platforms
Consultancy background.
ISTQB testing qualification and practical application (Advanced)
Exposure to a wide range of test management and test automation tools
Experience of working with multiple technologies across complex
environments
Diverse experience across a wide range of business domains and sectors
Excellent problem solving skills and documentation skills
Experience of planning and managing non-functional testing using
automated tools
