An experience Portfolio Test Manager is required to join an expanding test consultancy, providing high end consultancy services to our clients.

Job role
The PTM will be required to manage and oversee  all aspects of testing delivery covering multiple test projects. The individual should be familiar with all aspects of testing, from Unit through to UAT and OAT, covering both functional and non functional testing activities.
You will be required to undertake a Quality Assurance role across the streams within your portfolio, ensuring that all activities are undertaken in line with agreed standards and delivered in line with KPI’s and SLA’s.
The portfolio of work within your span of control will follow both traditional delivery models and Agile / Dev ops and you should be comfortable managing and providing guidance to the testing activities that are undertaken within all workstreams.

Key responsibilities will include
  • Management of a large pool of onshore and offshore functional and non-functional test resources, ranging from junior analysts through to senior consultant
  • Ownership of the production and implementation of the appropriate test strategies, plans and processes
  • Ability to set high standards across your teams and push for continuous improvements
  • Stakeholder management of internal and external clients
  • 3rd Party management
  • Resource planning, Budget management, control and forecasting
  • Single point of contact for client escalations, ensuring these do not  develop into issues
  • Oversight of test environments that are required for your portfolio of activities, including co-ordination of those environments and required datasets
  • Support and mentoring of your direct reports
  • Facilitating  of “quality gates” and working with all suppliers to ensure that they meet the success and exit criteria
  • Support the development of business cases to fund future strategic initiatives

Skills and experience
The successful candidate should have:
  • Demonstrable experience working at a similar level over at least 5 years, aligning to the job role requirements across more than one business sector
  • Previous experience of managing large pools of resource, both onshore and offshore
  • Knowledge of non functional tools, including performance, automation and virtualisation tools.
  • Strong QA background, with ability to champion best practice.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced client facing environment
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Relevant professional qualifications including ISTQB Advanced and Prince2 Practitioner
  • Strong understanding of current tools and technology
  • Experience across multiple business sectors, utilities as distinct advantage.
