The role:

We're looking for an experienced user acceptance test analysts.

The successful candidate will be conducting user acceptance testing in teams with other UAT test analysts, UAT testers and typically business users. You will be preparing UAT test scripts, executing those tests, managing results and raising incident logs. You will have had some experience of supervising business users and less experienced UAT testers doing the same activities. As this is to work on a MOD programme of work you need to have security clearance to SC level.

The role requires candidates to be fully mobile and will be required to work initially in Reading and on client sites in various locations around the South of England. Long term, candidates may be required to work on client sites in various locations throughout the UK.

Experience:

  • Can understand business specifications; experience of Agile techniques would be useful.
  • Must be able to review and contribute to test strategies and test plans; experience in preparing UAT test plans.
  • Understand business requirements and business operating procedures in order to develop effective UAT deliverables that full test impacted business and operational groups. Participate in UAT planning and execution activities for business and operations participants.
  • Capable of preparing detailed UAT test plans, conditions, scenarios, cases and related data.
  • Able to design manual test cases for simple as well as complex business functionality.
  • Can confidently apply risk based techniques to testing.
  • Able to execute UAT test scripts assigned within the allocated timeframeReview defects logged by less experienced testers to confirm severity and priority.
  • Should have previous experience of raising test defects and logging them in the appropriate test management tools like HP Quality Centre or IBM Rational.
  • Should have at least one other areas of testing experience : functional testing, system testing, automation testing or usability testing.
  • A minimum of 3 years user acceptance testing experience gained in the workplace, and a good understanding of the system development life cycle.
  • Experience of at least one other area of testing e.g. functional testing, system testing, automation testing, usability testing.

  • Qualifications/skills required:

  • ISTQB/ISEB Foundation qualified
  • Superb interpersonal communication skills
